HUNTERSVILLE, N.C., March 4, 2025 – American Tire Distributors, one of the largest independent suppliers in the replacement tire market, has successfully completed a strategic sale of substantially all of its assets. Under the ownership of well-capitalized investors dedicated to achieving long-term success, the new company (the “New Company”) – which plans to do business as American Tire Distributors (“ATD”) – is set to accelerate growth and be a leader in the industry.
With a focus on its core tire distribution business, the New Company is committed to its national distribution network to drive efficiency and deliver exceptional value to its manufacturer partners and customers. Backed by a strong financial foundation, the New Company plans to invest significantly in rebuilding inventory and optimizing its distribution footprint, ensuring a seamless and improved experience across its network.
Leading the New Company is an experienced and dynamic leadership team. Ira Silver has been appointed as President and Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately, bringing a fresh vision and strategic direction. Additionally, Sean Franciscus joins as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, reinforcing the New Company’s commitment to operational excellence. In recognition of his contributions in the industry, Keith Calcagno’s role within the New Company will be Executive Vice President and Chief Sales Officer.
